So far the major players in the foldable display smartphones have been Samsung and Huawei. Both companies have approached the form factor as a smartphone-cum-tablet hybrid, which we admit is a pretty clever idea and a pretty obvious use of the technology, but it looks like Motorola has since tossed their hat into the ring with a different take on it.

Together with Verizon, Motorola has officially revived the Razr phone, except that in this case, Motorola has given it a modern day makeover where on the inside, it features a foldable display while the exterior maintains the same classic look we’ve all come to know and love. When opened, the Razr now sports a 6.2-inch display and looks like a regular phone, but it can be folded into a clamshell-like device that can be easily slipped into a pocket.

Under the hood, we’re looking at the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset accompanied by 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 2,510mAh battery, a 16MP camera, and oddly enough, Motorola has chosen to launch it with Android 9.0 Pie on board instead of the newer Android 10, but presumably it will be updated eventually.

As for pricing, the Motorola Razr will be priced at $1,500 and will be exclusively available from Verizon starting 9th of January, 2020, but pre-orders can be placed on the 26th of December.
