With Apple increasing the prices of its iPhones and combined that with the heat from the competition and also a mature market, it wasn’t surprising to learn that Apple’s newer iPhones weren’t selling as hot as its predecessors did in the years before it. However, the iPhone 11 seems to be painting a story of redemption.

According to a report from the Nikkei Asian Review, it seems that due to strong demand for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models, Apple is asking its suppliers to increase the production of the new models by as much as 10%, which is said to roughly equate to about 8 million additional units.

One source familiar with the situation told the publication, “This autumn is so far much busier than we expected. Previously, Apple was quite conservative about placing orders. After the increase, prepared production volume for the iPhone 11 series will be higher compared to last year.”

This new report seems to be in line with an earlier report by JP Morgan analysts, who found that the lead time for the new iPhones appear to be longer. Either way, this is good news for the company and we expect that with 2020’s iPhones possibly coming with 5G, those should help increase demand for the new phones even more.
