Unfriend Checker

In recent years, one of the changes that Apple made to its iPhones is by giving it water and dust resistance. The feature might come across as a bit novel since not all of us drop our phones into water or need to take it with us swimming, but when the feature does come in handy, many are no doubt grateful to have it.

We imagine that’s what the owner of an iPhone X must have felt because according to reports out of the UK, it seems that a team of divers discovered the handset sitting at the bottom of the lake. Now, it would be safe to assume that for a phone sitting underwater for a couple of days that it would have been spoilt, but apparently that is not the case.

The divers discovered that the phone was in working condition and that the screen actually lit up to reveal that the owner of the phone actually had a missed call from his grandfather. According to the diver who found the phone, Anthony Hanstock, “We had made a bit of a plan on this grid. But I went off course a bit and as I hit the bottom I reached out and touched the phone. I grabbed it and pressed the button [on the side of the phone] and it turned on. The screen lit up and he had a missed call from his granddad.”

The phone had actually belonged to Brad Beech, a staff member working at the lake who dropped it in a couple of days ago. According to Beech, their discovery saved him about £800 for the insurance needed for the phone.
