Samsung has been very secretive with their Galaxy Fold smartphone. They officially unveiled it at their Unpacked event in February, but even then the phone was kept behind a glass and no one was allowed to touch it. Now thanks to a recently leaked video, it seems that someone had managed to get their hands on the handset and we have to say that we’re not that impressed.

For starters it appears that the crease between displays is very obvious and due to the use of plastic displays, we’d hate to imagine how much more obvious the crease will be over time with repeated openings and closings (although it was suggested that Samsung could offer free screen replacements).

Also the side notch on the phone is huge and is a stark departure from the punch-hole displays that Samsung used with the Galaxy S10. Also the phone, when folded, has massive bezels on the top and bottom which we are definitely not a fan of, and it suggests that the device is meant to be used opened rather than closed.

That being said, we can totally forgive Samsung for these alleged flaws. This is because the Galaxy Fold is pretty much one of the first of its kind. This means that kinks are to be expected which hopefully will be ironed out in future models, but for now and for a device that is priced close to $2,000, we can’t say we’re too impressed with it.
