OmniVision unveiled its first 64MP image sensor, the OV64C. It's a 1/1.7" sensor, as large as the Sony IMX686 and Samsung ISOCELL GW1, two competing 64MP sensors. This size and resolution means that individual pixels measure 0.8µm. This is a Quad Bayer sensor (or, 4-cell color filter array, as OmniVision calls it), so it can output 16MP images with effective 1.6µm pixels.
