Last week we got three new vivo V-series phones and the V21 and V21 5G in particular brought something you don’t see that often – optically stabilized selfie cameras. We asked your opinion on the matter in our weekly poll and you selected the V21 5G as the most exciting device from the lineup.
Most of you aren’t sold on the utility of OIS selfie cameras to begin with and a solid number believe other phones offer better front facing cameras. The 44MP shooter on the new V21 and V21 5G sits behind a standard f/2.0 lens and brings autofocus (a proper rarity in this price segment) and dual...

Realme unveiled the Realme 8 and 8 Pro in March. We already reviewed the Pro model, and now we have the vanilla 8 in Cyber Silver color with us for the full review.
The Realme 8 looks similar to the Pro variant - it's built around a 6.4" FullHD+ AMOLED screen with a punch hole in the upper-left corner for the 16MP selfie camera and a fingerprint reader underneath for password-less unlocking, which surprisingly performs better than the 8 Pro's.

It seems Lenovo is working hard on a new batch of tablets. Hot on the heels of the alleged Yoga Pad Pro leak form a couple of days ago, detailing a intriguing tablet, with HDMI input support, we are now seeing a more-traditional form-factor tablet also pop-up in various places. As per the name suggests - the Tab M10 5G is a more budget-friendly model, with a display diagonal around 10 inches. It now has is own page in the Google Play console, complete with a small and not particularly telling render, as well as a TB-X607Z model number.

Last year HMD Global released an Android 11 update roadmap for Nokia smartphones, including a total of 15 smartphones supposed to get the latest version of Android between Q4 2020 and Q2 2021. Out of those, seven are already running Android 11, while the update for a few of them has been delayed. And while we thought the rest would receive Android 11 during the promised timeframe, owners of some smartphones will actually have to wait more to get a taste of Android 11.

Nobody was ever in doubt that Apple's new anti-app tracking (ATT) feature, rolled-out with iOS 14.5 would have a major impact on the way targeted advertisement works and consequently, any company with a business model built around it. Like Facebook and its subsidiaries, like Instagram - some of the most severely-affected parties and naturally among the most vocal against ATT.
Having a hunch that a certain change is significant, though, is not the same as getting some actual data on just how significant it is. The Verizon Media-owned Flurry Analytics has its mobile analytics services...
It really didn’t take long after last month's announcement for the Redmi K40 Gaming to basically explode in popularity, raking in 100,000 sales in one minute. It should hardly come as a surprise then than Xiaomi could be looking into launching one or more derivative models in the near future. We already know that the "K" device family is a thing and we might now be looking at a sprawling "K Gaming" sub-branch in the future, as well. At least that's what a recent Weibo insider tip suggests.
The source has a solid track record and just happens to recall another phone alongside the...
Sony is no stranger to extended pauses between device announcement and actual sales. This is definitely the case with the new Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III. Both were unveiled back in April and can likely be expected in Japan around mid-June. In the meantime, Sony has been trying its best to keep interest high with a few promo videos, as well as engineering talks particularly centered around the camera setup on the new phones. Arguably, the most intriguing part of the package, pretty-much shared between the Xperia 1 III and its smaller Xperia 5 III sibling.

From there the wrongdoers gain the ability to listen in on your calls, read through your text messages, and can even unlock your SIM card in order to bypass any limitations imposed by carriers. According to reports nearly 30% of all...

While there is a lot of research being done on battery technology to make them safer and longer lasting, for the most part, our mobile devices continue to use lithium-ion as its battery. While lithium-ion batteries are generally safe, they do have the tendency to explode if not treated properly, such as taking hard hits or using unofficial accessories to charge it with.Save for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 incidents, […]

Foldable phones from a technological point of view are impressive. However, there is a bit of concern regarding durability, namely the display which isn’t as rigid compared to more traditional displays. This is because in order to be flexible, a different type of material is used, which also makes it slightly more susceptible to scratches and dents. However, during a durability test by JerryRigEverything, Huawei’s Mate X2 foldable phone actually survived […]

Apple’s current fee for its App Store is 30% of whatever the developers make from the sale of their apps or sales made through in-app purchases. This is an area of contention in the lawsuit against Epic, where Epic and other app developers and companies feel that the 30% that Apple takes is too much. However, it seems that a decade ago, Apple exec Phil Schiller actually floated the idea of […]

An app listed in the Google Play Store should ideally just have its name. However, some developers have become a bit more creative in the way they name and list their apps, where they might use graphics in the app’s logo or emojis in the text to suggest that an app is “better” than the rest. This can be rather misleading and could cause people to install the wrong apps, or […]
With the release of iOS 14.5, Apple has introduced its App Tracking Transparency feature that basically gives users the option of whether or not they want an app to be able to track them. One of the new features of iOS 14.5 that was released yesterday is App Transparency Tracking. Samsung’s foldable smartphones aren’t cheap. As if owners did not have to worry about their screens potentially cracking or scratching, they also had to worry about their devices getting wet because Samsung has not officially given the phones an IP rating, meaning that they are not officially rated to be water or dust resistant. However, according to a report from SamMobile, that could change with the company’s upcoming foldables. Samsung is […]
