Motorola Razr 3's battery life might be disappointing

Motorola Android Rumors

Motorola is currently working on its next generation foldable smartphone, which we're tentatively calling Razr 3. This will launch at some point in the near future, and it's confirmed to sport Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This means it will be Motorola's first high-end foldable.

There are other upgrades too, especially in the camera department, but if we go by a new rumor out of China, there will also be areas where the new Razr isn't better than its predecessors. And one such problematic area is battery capacity.

According to a source who's been reliable in the past (but not always), the Razr 3 will come with a 2,800 mAh battery. That's the same capacity as the Razr 5G from 2020, its direct predecessor. And it's not a lot.

For comparison's sake, note that rumor has it the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 will boast a 3,700 mAh cell in a similar body - we're talking about it since it will be the Razr 3's main competitor. Even the currently on sale Flip3 has a 3,300 mAh battery - 500 mAh more than the upcoming Razr, and still not enough to last a day on a charge.

So if you want to buy Motorola's next foldable device, get ready for a lot of charging. Hopefully that will be fast. Aside from the battery capacity this rumor reiterates some previously leaked specs: the 6.7" FHD+ 120 Hz OLED flexible display with a 32 MP selfie camera embedded in a centered hole-punch, a 50 MP main camera with 1/1.5" sensor size, a secondary (probably ultrawide) 13 MP camera, and 12GB of RAM.

No you completely miss the point. It's not about foldables in general. It's about the razr specifically. Even though they weren't even the ones that pushed the tech for as many years they come out with a $1500 phone that only has $4...

If we really want to see foldables under $1000, it has to go mainstream by making it easy and cheap to repair. Until that happens, foldable phones will go over $1000 price bracket.

Yeah trade in value is a joke now but that's shocking. My phone only has one and half newer versions and was $1100. I'm quoted a $250 trade in
