canalys iphone xr and galaxy s10 s10e lead declining north american market
The North American smartphone market saw a sharp decline of sales in the first three months of 2019, compared to Q1 of 2018. A total of 36.4m smartphones were shipped in Q1 of 2019, compared to 44.4m in Q1 of 2018 – down 18%.
Of all shipped phones the iPhone XR, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e accounted for 25%. The iPhone XR saw 4.5M shipments while the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e each moved 2M units.
