Facebook is discontinuing payments in its Messenger app for users in the United Kingdom and France. The information comes from Engadget, who it from Facebook itself. The company says it will focus its efforts on experiences that people find more useful and is currently informing users who used the feature for the upcoming changes.
Some reports have been saying that Facebook is planning to launch a blockchain “stablecoin”, linked to the US dollar. While it is in development for WhatsApp, it might eventually replace the peer-to-peer payments that have just been discontinued.
